Sports Medicine Physicians & Athletic Trainers
We know the training room is your domain and your focus is on the health of your athletes. We also know the reality of managing each athlete’s well-being can be prohibitive. Here’s how we can help.
Change The Game
Sudden cardiac arrest is the leading medical cause of death for sports participants. Attuned to the athletic heart, Cardea 20/20 ECG™ assists in determining difficult-to-diagnose cardiac abnormalities that put your players at risk. Used by Professional Sports Teams, Universities & Colleges, Athletic Training Professionals, Sports Medicine Physicians, Sports and Pediatric Cardiologists, Neurologists, Family Practice and Internal Medicine Physicians, Cardea 20/20 ECG flags when further evaluation is recommended before the athlete participates in competitive sports.
Cardea 20/20 ECG is the only 12-lead ECG for your training room:
~2% False Positives—The Industry’s Lowest
Reduced false positives means no logistical maze of unnecessary and costly follow-up for you and your athletes. And it ensures you are properly equipped to protect them.
Automated with the International Criteria for ECG Interpretation In Athletes
Cardea 20/20 ECG is the only device with these proven consensus standards built in to its algorithm and software.
Longer Recording Time for Better Analysis
16 seconds versus standard 10 seconds, which offers a better look at bradycardiac hearts.
Faster Turnaround Saves Money and Time
Cardea 20/20 ECG is a portable, handheld device that connects via Bluetooth® wireless technology. Onsite testing eliminates need for outside third-party services, while robust ECG editing and analysis tools enable seamless remote over-reads.
Safe Risk Management Strategy
Comprehensive cardiac testing lowers the potential liability of unidentified heart conditions in your players.
“When I first became an athletic trainer, the hot topic was concussions. We’ve attacked that issue well over the last decade and now have many standards in place to protect athletes. Then we focused on sudden cardiac arrest prevention, first by teaching CPR to coaches and students and through the availability of AEDs in the event of a cardiac emergency. Now we’re exploring screening athletes for undiagnosed heart conditions that put them at risk.
For-profit company screening is cost-prohibitive for our high school, so when I was introduced to Cardea 20/20 and learned it incorporated the International Criteria to effectively get the lowest false-positive rate, I ordered one. No more clunky ECG machines on carts – this is a hand-held, wireless device. I took mine out of the box, watched the demo, then tried it out on one of my senior three-sport student athletes…and he was flagged for WPW. A doctor confirmed the diagnosis and referred to a cardiologist, who performed a four-hour surgery that will allow the athlete to go on to play college sports.
We became athletic trainers to help protect young athletes. We now have a chance to even save lives. Shouldn’t we do everything we can to do that? With a Cardea 20/20 ECG, we get that chance by detecting undiagnosed cardiac issues in our athletes before the athlete suffers a major incident.” —Rusty Sullivan, ATC,L CPT-NASM, CES, PES, Idaho
